These ideas for including red in interior design are from Martha Stewart website.

Kitchen accents. I like the red island and white cabinet combo.

Drapery

Red drapery and red chair

Vintage or antique lighting fixture. I think this red light fixture adds so much to the neutral wall and sofa. Also like the yellow sunflowers with red and white.

Furniture-I like the mix of pattern with the sofa and cushions

A child's bedroom. I like everything in this room. I would have loved this for my twin boys when they were young.

I like the last two pics:  just enough red for me.  Red accents can really bring out a room, imho.

I have an antique bedrm set in the master.  Painted the accent wall with BM's Sweet Rosy Brown andit works well with the 'Waterfall' furniture.

IMO a little red goes a longer way than some other colors.

Nice as an accent. Amount of red accent depends on the size of the space.

I like it!  My neighbor has a few red walls in addition to white, in his living and dining area, with decor accents of red, turquoise, and just a bit of yellow and green.  I love the bright look, though it's not for me.  I go for soft cream and beige with mostly pastel accents.

@Iwantcoffee ,  a fun, different post!

The one room I do like is the sunroom or living room, with a softer, almost Byzantine red, integrated well with the other colors-- that's a darling room.

But that's me-- I shy away from bright, saturated colors, and love soft, muted colors and pastels.  I often enjoy a little "hit" of red, but not when it's predominant.

There's a famous theory among gen z' ers now, that one drop of *unexpected* red in a room will make the room, virtually ANY room, extraordinary.

I don't agree with that as a general proposition, but I do know that a drop of red in the hands of someone really good, like Bunny Williams, can be brilliant in a room!

Although I don't have any red in my home, I do really like the use of it sparingly (decor items or an accent wall, etc.).  I really like the kitchen and the sunroom that was posted.

I love red.  Have a little bit of red in almost every room - sometimes it's pillows, a picture on the wall with some red in it.  My bedroom has a red and white toile quilt and  matchng curtains and some pics on the wall have red in them.  The red can be different shades for instance some are more burgundy, some brighter.  I love it as an accent in this way, not sure how I feel about a wall of red.  Guess it would depend on the shade.

That second one!  It would make a great backdrop for portraits.

@JudyL  Your quilt and curtains sound lovely.

I have a set of red dishes that my husband gave me for Mother's Day years ago. The top of our table is white with a lite oak wood. I love the red dishes on our table.
