It's definitely not a popular view among this group of posters, but I love the microfiber sheets. They're soft, smooth, comfortable, extraordinarily easy to care for, and nearly indestructible. They're cool and comfy in the summer and pretty comfy in the winter too. On top of all of that, they're among the least expensive sheet options out there. I truly find it hard to say anything negative about them. About the only issue is mine felt a bit papery until washed a few times, then they've been wonderful ever since. If people approached them with an open mind and gave them a fair chance I suspect they'd have more converts. They're very impressive sheets, just not a status symbol. If you want bragging rights on a set of sheets, then microfiber isn't for you, but if you want a good, soft, smooth, comfortable sheet that's nearly indestructible, then give microfiber a try. (You can get sets in all sizes for around $20 at Boscovs and other retailers.)

I have never tried those. I figure since they are made out of polyester they would be too hot for me. Are they full of static in the winter? Seems like they would stretch out of shape. I like flannel in the winter & 100% Egyptian cotton, SuPima cotton or bamboo for summer.

Target Threshold sheets are the best I have ever had in 40 years of buying sheets.

There's no static electricity and they hold their shape perfectly. They don't pill, wear, wrinkle, or have any of the "common" issues one gets with sheets.

Re: Recommendation for sheets

LL Bean (not the sunwashed percale and not in a "set" -- percale I will look up to see what the title is)... these are SO GREAT! They are crisp and cool, but sturdy. The sheets of my dreams. 280 thread count percale LINK

We used to have "Charisma" by Fieldcrest sheets. Soft and silky, high thread count. They ripped so fast... : )

Target - threshold brand has the best sheets and you can but the pieces alone, no more top sheets if you do not need them

I bought some of the Threshold sheets after they were recommended here and I could not be more pleased. What I love is that they fit a very deep mattress and still have plenty of give. Great prices, too!

I too love Threshold sheets, Lands End sheets are also excellent.

I agree about the microfiber sheets. I wore out my last set of sheets, and was low on money at the time, so I bought a cheap set of microfiber sheets at Walmart, thinking I'd replace them when I had more money. I like them so much, I bought another set of the same.

Re: Recommendation for sheets

I love peachskinsheets dot com. I do not find the microfiber to be hot at all - my cat even loves them. They do not wrinkle, do not stain and feel great. I know there are cheaper microfiber sheets out there but they don't seem to get good reviews.
