Your arrangement looks great, SHOPR, and I hope you are right about the scent fading. I ordered two luminara candles recently which I will post below, and when I opened them, I was pretty upset because they are scented, and this is not mentioned in the item description. I have them airing out in a room I don't enter often, except around the holidays, and every time I walk through that room, I can smell them, most unpleasant scent. I love the look of the candles as I finally found true red candles in these, but if the scent doesn't fade, I may have to return them. I am hoping the scent of my real candles will cover up this awful scent.

Luminara 7 Carved Swirl Flameless Candle with Timer

I had to return the ivory ones I got from Kohls.....the scent was so strong and unpleasant ! I put them in another room also, but when I walked in the house from being gone, it permeated the whole house.

Thank you for the review SHOPR. When I order, I'll ask Q to send you the commission.

Note to Self: Remember to secure candle in CENTER of pedestal with museum wax. Those pics are bugging me. {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

Thanks, everyone. A "real life" photo is always helpful to me, so I'm happy to share.

JPC, I found out quickly last Christmas that the VPH 3-pc mirrored centerpiece won't work on my table if anyone is actually eating there. There just isn't really enough room for plates, drinks, s&p shakers, pitcher, etc. So now I just use them the rest of the year, when nobody eats at this table. We normally just eat at the smaller round table in our kitchen.

mousiegirl and Azcowgirl, I wonder if we all have candles with the same or different scents? Mine are definitely a vanilla based scent, but there are other scents mixed in. Sometimes I think it's coconut, while other times it's powdery, and sometimes it's warm vanilla sugar. A reviewer mentioned sandalwood. I can't remember exactly what sandalwood smells like, though.

mominohio, If you have the regular Luminaras and the primitive ones already, I would think these are a happy medium in between the other two styles. The distressing is noticeable but subtle, on the Ivory at least.

ValuSkr, That'll be the day! If they paid us commission, mallemo would be a QVC-made millionaire by now. Wink

I like the way those look, SHOPR. Thanks so much for posting the pictures. Good job on finding some candle rings that you like better than the ones GR. I hope they were a much better price, too?

Isn't it funny what we see in pictures that we don't notice in real life? I've taken pictures of my table settings before and noticed in the pictures that the candles aren't centered in the holders or aren't standing up straight, the plates aren't centered on the chargers and that there is a wrinkle in the tablecloth. I have developed a lot of respect for the people who set up the displays in department stores. LOL!

SHOPR - I just noticed that the description of your candles did not mention that they were scented. OVC needs to be sure that if candles are scented, it is mentioned in the description.

Your candles, candle rings and pedestals look so pretty!!! {#emotions_dlg.wub}

I bought several sets of those pedestals back when they were in the AS IS section and they have worked beautifully...

Enjoy and thanks for posting!!

Re: Received the Luminara 360 Rustic Candles in Ivory

They look good with the gold pillars. I almost ordered them, but I prefer candles with the same height and prefer shorter candles. If I hadn't got the burgundy ones at kohls, I may have ordered these. I ordered 3 loose luminara and two had to go back. One wouldn't turn on, tried different brands of batteries. The other shipped with the wick bent under the plastic. When I took it out of the box, it wouldn't straighten out. Really weird. They were all green. Hopefully my return doesn't get goofed up and they don't send replacements. I've had scents on various flameless candles, but they always faded after a day or two.

The rings were $7.99 each. I took a chance ordering them from Z where they can't be returned if they look tacky, but I think they turned out well. To me, they have more of a grassy look than anything, but the colors are all about Fall.

What is it about pictures that show flaws we don't see otherwise? It's uncanny.

I also mainly wanted the two 5 inch candles. It was a huge splurge for me to invest in two sets. I know that I have places (lanterns{#emotions_dlg.laugh}) to use the 7" candles, and they are really substantial.

You've really had a time getting your candles in working order. I hope you eventually get everything you initially wanted. Were these latest bad ones also from QVC?
