wowza!  i don't think i see anything here i do like.  i could maybe live with the couch, but why so many pillows? that tiny coffee/end table is a joke. serves no purpose at all.

This looks like a finished basement that has been converted to a room for the kids to watch TV, play video games and hang out.  There doesn't appear to be any windows or natural light coming in. It is not a professional picture, nor has it been professionally decorated.

To me it looks fine for what it is.  I would not spend money on beautiful furniture and fancy furnishings for my basement for kids to hang out in.  It's not supposed to be beautiful, just functional.

@Carmie  It probably is a 'rec' room and while I'd agree there's no real need to 'do' a rec room, it appears someone had to make the choice to point the walls what appears to be black or charcoal... I'm also not sure this is a basement room. Enlarging the picture, that appears to be a window at the end of the banquette (that thing is not a sofa...) and that it might be night time outside. I agree, it might be fine for what it is, but it does also appears some at least minimal effort was made to 'decorate' it, which appears to have fallen completely flat...

That's one big sofa. As soon as I seen it I thought they put cushions on a church pew.

This idea of a very long couch is not for me, the room is dreary and unappealing.
