Re: RALPH LAUREN-TYPE VIGNETTES, IN THE FALL

DH and I are fans of the deep, rich colors enhanced by firelight and candlelight. These rooms are warm and cozy and evoke brandy and cigars (a la #14), if you are so inclined. Smiley Wink

Also, I think I can smell those pears on the table in #3. The smell of ripe pears is intoxicating. A good, if expensive, idea for a centerpiece. Practical only if you plan to bake later or if you have horses, cows or chickens to feed. I guess you could send some home with your guests.

And then, of course, there's #17 HeartHeartHeart

Re: RALPH LAUREN-TYPE VIGNETTES, IN THE FALL

Not at all my favorite style but these are, for the most part, beautifully done.  I love a darker living room as the evoke warmth and richness you just don't get from a light & airy decorated room.

I don't even mind the Coastal living room.  I'd opt for a smaller ship at the window and change the fabric in the chair from a ship print to a navy and add a pillow with the ship theme.

Many thanks for posting these Oznell!!

Re: RALPH LAUREN-TYPE VIGNETTES, IN THE FALL

By the way, the resourceful, veteran thrifter, "Canterbury Cottage" has a fun new video out, on how to infuse the Ralph Lauren look into your decorating by simply thrifting, and/or upcycling what you have, inexpensively.

The video deals with RL Christmas looks, but has ideas and techniques that work for any season.  Canterbury Cottage has a great eye--

The patina'd brass huntsman's horn, vintage clocks, old books and print in the first image, and in the second, the doubled glass hurricanes over matching brass candlesticks, along with massed family photos on a round, dark-wood table, have that distinctively "Ralph" look without the hefty price tag...

Re: RALPH LAUREN-TYPE VIGNETTES, IN THE FALL

Don't like all that stuff on the ottoman in #1. Ottoman are for feet. JMO.

The foyer and dining room in #2 & #3 and the vignettes in #9 & 11 are ok, but I'm not loving all the items and accessories.

I like #4, #5, #12, #14, & #16 better, but there's still too much stuff sitting around for me. Love the horse in #5.

The outdoor spaces in #6 & #7 are nice, but the pumpkins are in the way if you want to sit down in #7.

I don't like #8, #10, #13, #15. All those rooms need more color. Really hate the fish on the wall. Not a fan of flags on the wall either.

Cute girl in #17.

Re: RALPH LAUREN-TYPE VIGNETTES, IN THE FALL

I love so many of these pictures and the ways they have been put together with the deep warm colors.

The only feature I miss, is seeing an empty space i.e. a flat surface w/o anything on it.

Occasionally ( to me) it feels cluttered with lovely things.
