Re: Questions about moving companies

@jlkz    hmmmm.  Believe me, I moved last year after living 35 years in a large apartment.    I had 40+ bins or more.  I think I have found bins I haven't opened in 10 years.  I have been donating and trashing for six months.  The truck was full, and we had a few carloads of stuff we didn't want the movers handling.  It certainly was a process.  I'm 64 and hope I don't have to move in a long time.  I also moved to my childhood home which needed emptied too.

My movers were the best!  3 guys.  I was so thankful for them.  Lunch and generous tips.  They were a local small moving company that moved my dad to independent living.  I asked if they could handle a bigger move.  They could!

I've had monthly pick ups from a vets organization.  I found a furniture bank that took excess furniture.  I was combining three households.  It's been a lot!

@Melania7 @lynnie61

Once the movers leave, then you can't start to place stuff until the kitchen cabinets and drawers are clean and ready for their liner ( thin folded tea towels or nonslip, noise-proof ones ).  This will take a lot more time because chances are that the dimensions will be totally different.

once this is done, the reverse process begins and you unpack the bins:  wall and other spaces may be different Thant what you came from.  Headaches for sure.

But...it will make your new living experience easier in the long run.
