I had my bathtub replaced with a glass-door shower. I am wondering about the upkeep. Do I need to reapply silicone where the wall tiles and floor tiles meet--if so, how often. Also the new glass doors require zero wiping, but I do squeegee the water off. Never spots except near the bottom. Do you wash your glass shower doors? With what?

I think whether you need to reapply depends on how well it wears. The first sign that it's changed, I'd be reapplying. If you don't, water will get in there. I have this issue at my mother's house. She needed reapplying after about 7 years. I don't know that there's a recommended time frame. I think of reapplying after years, not months.
I wash my glass shower doors with whatever I clean the shower with. I fill a pail about half way with a grocery store bath cleaner. I'm not brand loyal. Whichever was on sale. I spray it on and use a brush with a long handle. I charge it and the brush head spins. I go over the entire area, including the door.

I have used many different types of cleaners for bathroom showers and tubs over the years. I have yet to find a better one..and without a doubt the BEST one than this homemade cleaner.
Heat 1 1/2 cups vinegar in the microwave for 2 minutes. Pour white vinegar into spray bottle. Add 1 1/2 cups liquid Dawn to *spray bottle. Shake well. (*Use a good spray bottle like you would get at a HomeDepot (they're bigger bottles and have a much better sprayer.)
Simply spray it on the shower walls, glass doors, tub, shower base, etc. Use a sponge or sponge with a light scrubby and rub over the areas, then rinse with water. It literally melts soap and soap scum as well as cleans very well. It also has disinfectant properties.

Ask your installer about the silicone.
I have just a regular tub, I use the plain white caulk & replace it when it starts to pull away or if I can no longer get it clean.
I have no experience with silicone but if I were you, I would get up to speed quickly. If you do have a leak, you may not know it, water will seep in anywhere.

Oh the joy of tile!!!!
The most common problem is mold will start BEHIND the caulk. One way to prevent that is to reseal the wall tile on a regular basis. The wall tile and grout lines trail the moisture down the wall and behind the caulk where the tile meets the floor.
Overzealous scrubbing will also shorten the life of the caulk, be careful of the corners!
I have come to hate tile, grout and caulk........
Our new house, master bath has a huge 2 person walk in shower, with floor to ceiling (10 ft) of tile and a tile floor. I already am planning to get the entire area resealed this summer.
