I recently had to send back a defective item ordered on Easy Does It day. I marked the enclosed paperwork "defective" in large letters with a sharpie and marked that I wanted it exchanged for the same item, not refunded. I used the QVC return label and sent it on it's way. They have received the item and processed it, but it says on the order status that the order was cancelled and another line shows it as being returned. I checked my credit card online and it appears that I am being charged 6.95 for the use of the return label. My understanding was that there was no charge to use the label if an item is defective. Has anyone had this problem? I wanted the item exchanged but it was just cancelled, so I am assuming that I lost my easy pay on that item? I'm rather confused about the whole thing. Any insight you can give me would be much appreciated.

Always call first about defective returns. And those Q labels are worthless. Everyone complains about them.

@Maltichonmom17, First, call Customer Service and explain this, because you should not have been charged for using the return label, since you clearly marked defective on your form.

My advice is not to ever request an exchange for anything, but instead, re-order the item yourself and just ask for a refund on the item you're returning.  Both times that I sent something back for an exchange, both times the returned item was defective, I was still charged for the label fee.  The oversight only seems to happen when I've asked for an exchange, and has not happened when I've returned anything defective and asked for a refund.  I'm not sure why the oversight happens, but it is frustrating, and I've read here where others have experienced the same thing.  I have had no other problems with using the included return labels, and I always use them.

I would assume that the easy pay offer would be lost since it was marked cancelled, but I'm not familiar with that.

@SHOPR, thank you the information. Very timely, as today I received a defective Luminara candle that I was planning to exchange. Sounds like I should just return and repurchase as long I won't pay original shipping charges twice. I appreciate you taking time to respond.
