Question about downy rinse and refresh.

I have read fantastic reviews on downy rinse and fresh to be used in the rinse doing laundry. I find when washing towels and hand towels the never have a clean smell. Have any of you tried it?

I don't like the scents both have.

Downy, fresh and similar products break down the threads in your clothes and towels.

I stopped using any of them 20 years ago.

There will be members who can offer you alternatives.

I only use DOWNY CALM, the liquid...My DH likes the smell also...and I need a lot of CALM in my life right now.

Re: Question about downy rinse and refresh.

Fabric softener used on towels reduces their absorbency.

@Pooky1 I have a guaranteed method to get your towels smelling fresh and clean again and as a bonus...they will be absorbent if they're not!  Let me know if you want to know how to do it.

Correction to an earlier post peeps...I said I used the Downy Calm 'liquid'...uh...sorry, my bad - I haven't used the liquid in years !  I only use the D.Calm that you shake into the washer prior to washing...it's the little bead looking things...yep,you are wondering how I misspoke on that right?  SO AM I !  LOTS OF STRESS AT MY HOUSE, MY ONLY EXCUSE AND I'M STICKING TO IT.

@Pooky1

Fabric softener can also gunk up your washing machine.

But would love to hear what @Ainhisg has to say about fresh towels.  Maybe vinegar or baking soda?

Re: Question about downy rinse and refresh.

My towels absorb well. They just don't smsmell fresh and clean. I reserched downy rinse and refresh. Its fabric softener like the regular kind is. It doesn't coat everything like regular fabric softener does. It gets rid of smells and gets rid of old fabric softener and detergent left in fabric and in the washer. All reviews I read give it fantastic reviews. I was just want to hear if anyone here has used it.thank you for all your feed back. I have tried wite vinegar and my wife hated it because she could smell vinegar. I was going to try baking soda to.
