Question about Yankee Candle melt cups

I have a wax warmer that runs on a halogen bulb. Have any of you used the melt cups in a warmer like this. Right now I am using the tartes. When I see the Yankee scented piece warmers they have a metal heating element. Would a warmer that uses a bulb melt the plastic on a easy melt cup..

Re: Question about Yankee Candle melt cups

I believe it would, I would be afraid to try it. I have both kinds of warmers, I have the one with the halogen bulb in my kitchen and the Scenterpiece one in my living room area......I like them both, but with the Scenterpiece the melts only last 24 hours, the scent only lasts for 24 hours, and the melt cups are 5.00 each, so it is a bit more expensive.......

Just a FYI. Yankee has a $20 off $45 right now. You could get like four cups free. They actually are cheaper then the melts. The melts are 1.99 and you get only 8 hrs. It would be s good time to get some cups with that sale. Thanks for the info. My warmer gets really warm so I am afraid it would melt the plastic. I got my warmer on Amazon and love it. I asked the question on Amazon to see if anyone had tried them. I am happy with the melts. It would just be fun to change scents and not have to worry until the TARTE scent was gone. I ordered my mom as scenterpiece from Yankee for Christmas I think with four or five melt cups. I got the warmer which was 29.99 and the cups for like $35 with the $20 off.

I've found that mine last far longer than 24 hours. I have a Scenterpiece with a timer on it and typically run the timer for 3 hours at a time. I've got melt cups that have been in there for 12 hours and are still 3/4 of the way full or even more so.  I think the melt cups are closer to 30 hours of melt time, at least in the Scenterpiece unit I bought. Mine are probably closer to 32.

One more thing: The scent I wanted for my Scenterpiece was sold out last year, but the tarts were on sale for about $1 each. I grabbed a dozen of those and threw a couple inside an empty Scenterpiece MeltCup. (I didn't even use up the Scenterpiece - I melted it and poured the wax into a Lock & Lock tub.) A Yankee Candle rep told me that they wouldn't last even the 24 hours of a MeltCup, but so far I've found I can get as many hours, if not more, from the Tarts I melted into the empty MeltCup. I think I used 4 Tarts to fill the cup, so at $1 each, that made it a little less than the price of a MeltCup and I think the time I'm getting from them is somewhere between the estimated time of the Tarts and the Melt Cup, something like 30 hours.

I love the melt cups.  The scent lasts much longer than 24 hours.  I like how you can change scents in seconds and not have a mess!!
