Would you say the lighter colored ones - white or ivory - give off more light than darker colors?
I'm going to put one or two inside a tall pumpkin porch decoration. Was thinking of buying an orange color but then I thought maybe a light color would emit more light.

They give off more light in the base.

@MayerDayer Thanks - that's kind of what I figured.

I would use a plain lighter candle. I have some smaller ones that I tried to put in a ceramic pumpkin last fall and it really didn't light up well through the openings on the face.
They have a design on them like a vine and it seemed to darken the glow.
Good luck.

@LindaSal Thanks - this is wooden - I tried a 7.5" white one and I think it'll work - I may look and see if there's a taller one though.

@FranandZoe I have almost every color available in the Luminara brand candles.
Right now I have dark green and pale yellow candles burning throughout the house.
I took one of each and put them in the closet, took a photo, and maybe this will give you an idea of how much light the dark/light candles throw off. The flame itself is the same, but the lighter colored candles show light thru them better.
Hope this helps.

@FranandZoe Got out my orange candle. This is what it looks like when lit in a dark area. Gives off pretty good light thru the candle.

@World Traveler - Again thanks so much for taking the time to do this. I love how thre orange looks - it gives off more light than I would have though - I'm going to order one. I really appreciate this!
