Question about Candle Warmers

I have a candle warmer from VPH that I ordered as a TSV many years ago. A painter told me that burning candles will cause soot to build up in the corners of the ceiling, so I want to start using the candle warmer. My question is, can B&BW (previously Slatkin) candles be put on warmers, or do you need to buy candles specifically for that purpose? I certainly don't want the glass to break and create a mess all over my counter.
