Question About Costco Laminate Flooring

I am curious if anyone has purchased Shaw laminate flooring from Costco and if you had their installers install it in your home.  They're currently having a 15% rebate offer and they are able to get the Shaw laminate I was wanting; however, i've never known anyone who's had them do the installation.  If you've had experience with this, please let me know.

Re: Question About Costco Laminate Flooring

One of my friends who is female, purchased her laminate flooring from Costco, but she did the installation herself.  She is a 61 year old widow. Her house looks great and she did an excellent job.

What I have found is that the products sold are pretty consistent, but installation varies from place to place and by each installer.  Costco as well as the big box stores contract the labor out.  If you live in NY and I live in PA, we will not have the same people do the installation.  Even if we lived on the same street, our installers would probably not be the same people.

The same people could install the floor from your local Costco, who also do installations for the high end flooring place and for the Home Depot too.

You either need to take your chances, or find your own independent contractor that you know will do a great job.

Re: Question About Costco Laminate Flooring

I always like that Costco backs up all their products and services. I never had flooring put in thru Costco - but I trust them. Finding a contractor on ur own doesn't mean that the job will be done properly - and getting them to fix the problem is never easy.
