Re: Quest for better cat litter

We use Worlds best cat litter. Love it because it doesn't have the dust of regular litters. It did take me a couple of weeks to adjust to the smell. My cats did fine but being a corn litter it smelled weird to me. They took right to it and seemed happier with it than the clay litters. I think it tracks a little more but I bought a shag like rug with tall thick fibers for them to walk on. They won't walk on a plastic grass or other plastic mats. I can shake/wash rug and I don't see any litter other than the rug so we are all happy. Would highly recommend

I mix Scoop Away Clumping with usually Tidy Cat or something on sale. Beware of highly scented cat litters. It's not good for cats to breath in all those chemicals.

Re: Quest for better cat litter

I am too lazy to go look at the label. but we buy ours from costco. It comes in a huge green plastic container and is only nine or ten dollars. We used to use a pricey brand that was lavender scented but it isn't made any longer. Gail, I am sorry about your kitty. Give your other babies extra hugs and scrunches, they must be feeling the loss too.

hennypenny, I love your honesty. That's funny. That's the way I always was with my other cats (I had four cats and they all died very quickly after my husband died). Then my daughter found Jack the cat.

He likes to potty outside (kinda like a dog). But he will go in the house but I mix potted dirt with litter for him to use in the house. He probably doesn't care.

Re: Quest for better cat litter

Litter update.

Finally finished with the awful Tidy Cat Lightweight litter & the Tidy Cat scented.

Have Sweat Scoop in one pan, and the Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal in the other pan. So far my tracking problem has almost disappeared! No horrible litter tracked in to the upstairs hall, bathroom or stairs! Relief!!

The cats seem to prefer the C&S. That pan is being used more often.

I want to try to get away from litter with scents and additives.

Re: Quest for better cat litter

I did contact Tidy Cat at their online site with my concerns about the lightweight litter.

I received this email. Unfortunately I had already tossed the product and box (could not wait to get rid of it!!) so I will not be able to respond.

It sounds like they think my product problems was only a fluke. Have to disagree since so many posted they also had the same issues as me!

Re: Quest for better cat litter

I bought the clump and seal litter a couple weeks ago, there were 2 coupons attached, each for 3 dollars off so I bought 2 boxes and let me tell ya, it is THE best litter I have ever used. No smell in the litter at all. Scooping it is a breeze cause it clumps and the clumps don't smell. I have 3 cats, 3 litter boxes and one of my cats has the most odiferous poo you'll ever smell. if I don't scoop immediately, it permeates the house. But with this litter, I don't even know she's gone until I go to scoop, It's that good.

Almost a year ago I tried the Precious Cat brand. I was searching for a low to no dust clumping litter for my cat that has respiratory issues, and I stumbled upon this brand. I have only bought the Respiratory Relief version of this brand, but I'm sure the other versions are good as well. I love that there is no cloud of dust when filling the box with fresh litter and no heavy perfume scent. Also, I don't sneeze when cleaning/scooping, and no more sneezing for my cat when he does his business.

I'm using my first bag of Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping cat litter. I'm very happy with it, and kitties are too. They took to it right away. I've found everything you've said about it is true...no dust, no perfume scent. And it clumps and controls odor well.
