Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

Of course, QVC's regular S&H charges are ridiculous........but if you purchased items subject to those S&H rates, I don't know why you'd expect an "adjustment". The special rates were a promotion for a specific time period. That's not when you shopped.

I had an e-mail in my mailbox this morning from QVC customer service about this very thing. It sounds like they are reducing shipping charges and there was a breakdown (i.e. $3.00 flat for items apparel, jewelry and beauty, etc). Message says practice goes into effect today, February 2, 2015 and says nothing about it being a promotional program. I kind of thought it was their effort to stay more competetive with other on-line retailers as their shipping/handling is so high here on the Q. I know myself, I don't purchase nearly as much as I used to because of that very issue. Oh and BTW, they will no longer offer reduced shipping if you are buying more than one of a specific item, which I would be fine with this, seeing that it would be $3.00 for each. HTH. Cheryl -

Interesting! I know they've been getting lots of negative feedback about their high S&H charges. It'll be interesting to see if they've really decided to change their policies and become more competitive in this area. I'll be watching!

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

In the new policy, as of Feb 17th, they will not be refunding the ORIGINAL ship fee if you return something and it either 1) wasn't a defective item or 2) their mistake. So, no more "try ons" unless you want to pay shipping both ways.

I disagree. Thier so called "promotion" was never advertised !!! As Greycatsrule stated, if a item was purchased and within a few days the price is reduced, we are given an adjustment. Why should shipping charges be any different ?!! It's bad business sense !! I receieved the above email as well. It just goes to show that in order to remain competitive they had better reduce thier shipping charges !!!!

OMG, do you realize what that would involve if QVC did that to ALL the orders! YOU are not their "only" customer!!! I agree with QVC on this one!

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

I would urge you to try again and again if you have to. On several Temp-tations facebook pages, people have been calling into Q and getting shipping adjustments back as far as 30 days. Some people have been credited up to $30.

I'm sure it depends on who you get. Try customer service directly, and try to call in the middle of the day when the more experienced and higher ranking people are there. It seems a lot of people got adjustments, but maybe they had so many people calling in and complaining, it got expensive, and they put a stop to it.

If it were me, I'd not give up quite yet, especially if it will be a large amount saved.

I've been shopping much less at QVC because of the excessive shipping fees. However, there is one line of clothing that cannot be bought elsewhere. I bought many items on Jan. 28th (and received them in record time on 1/31) They refused to make an adjustment even though the new "rules" were less than 48 hours old! In fact, 2 customer service reps and a supervisor had no idea that the products were $3.00 over the weekend. After getting no satisfaction, I re-ordered everything at quite a substantial savings. The original order is on the way back to them. Very bad business sense! It was a hassle for me, but it's the principal. Q lost a long time customer!

The promotion does not start until today. I too don't understand why you think you should get special treatment.

Thanks for posting this. I had no idea Q was going to start not refunding the original ship fee. I think you should start another thread with this info in Bold print so everyone is aware of this. I don't order from Q like I used to. I started using Wen so that's basically what I buy now. I won't be ordering anything unless I'm sure I want to keep it. I hate places that don't refund original shipping. I will buy from someone else before I buy from places that don't refund original shipping. Q can afford to refund the original ship method with their high rates they charge. We all know with their volume of shipping they get discounts on their shipping rate. Hope everyone reads your post but since nobody has replied to it makes me think nobody read it.

Where did you read about the new shipping policy that Q will not refund Original Shipping???

Re: QVC refuses to adjust shipping charges

The new shipping charges are in effect starting today - February 2. Why would you think you should be refunded anything for items you ordered before today?
