QVC Holiday Return policy- Confused

I just called CS and the person I spoke with said QVC is NOT refunding my cost to return the item I purchased for a gift. I'm confused, I thought I could return any "gift item" until Jan., 31, 2014 and they would refund my return postage? I purchased the Kringle Express TSV and it's not what I expected and don't want to give this as a gift to the person I bought it for, poor quality.

Am I missing something, or am I just not understanding their policy?

Any help would be appreciated, TIA
