Went to the local Flea Market and only made about $30.00 in 4 hrs, however came away feeling GREAT. The reason why is that we go rid of some heavy items that we no longer need and others loved. We also gave away some sheets and pillow cases to some very needy people. It was a beautiful PA day and hubby and I worked well together. We continue to move on with cleaning out stuff. I also had lunch with a favorite cousin and gave her a pack n Play that my sister and I no longer need. 2 of her kids are expecting soon.

It gets easier once I got the hang of it. I now know some local charities, flea markets,...

Re: Purging again -August 2014

Good for you! When the cold weather starts, I'm hitting my closets again. Just found out one of my brothers will build a summer home in the next year or so. Great opportunity to supply him with overflow of furniture, bedding, etc. He residence is a long distance away.

Re: Purging again -August 2014

$30 is pretty good & it's not in a landfill. I'm very sure somebody is glowing about what a great buy that they got! It's a Win, Win, Win!

I have a 4 foot tall stack of cookbooks that I'm donating. I'm only keeping the cookbooks that came with appliances, a Cajun cookbook, a Polish German Russian Cookbook, and a Wild Game Cookbook.

I keep a bag in my closet DH & I add to it regularly.

I'm off the next 2 days. I hope I can find more stuff to donate.
