Re: Pros/Cons Replacing Working 28 Year Old HVAC? Approx $7625! Help!

@AuntGLOL!!! Rainbow Bridge...we have lots of cats there that can visit our old furnace! We actually had it installed on Monday & I can't believe the difference already...so much quieter & the output is like night & day. We ended up getting it for $7100 because of more negotiating & then rejecting their thermostat & buying a better one for less. I so appreciate eveyone's suggestions, but in the end opted for a more basic model since our local Gas & Electric company really didn't offer great rebates & being a retired tax accountant I'm well aware of the available tax savings. Hubby & I are seniors so a "lateral move" made more sense than paying for all the bells & whisles that perhaps a future, younger new owner would or wouldn't want. I guess this is one more R&M replacement off the checklist & with all the unrest in the world really made sense to "get it now" Thanks again everyone!
