When we were moving to florida I dropped my good iron I had for years and broke it so when we got here I went to Target and boughrt a Black & decker steam iron. It has been an awful experience! This iron was supposed to be a choice pick in consumers digest - UGH. It doesn't get hot enough - I just ironed a nylon sheer tablecloth on the highest setting and it went perfectly. Of course it won't even begin to get wrinkles out of cottons or denims. so my DH has an electronic thermometer thing that you shoot a beam at something and it reads out the temperature and sure enough it was only 220 degrees. No wonder it doesn't make any steam - it doesn't get hot enough. So I can not reccommend enough to NOT buy a Black & Decker iron. I will be buying a new Rowenta ASAP. BTW - we looked it up on the computer and an iron at it's highest setting should be 400 degrees,.
