@fthunt.  Thanks but when I grew up and heard they're unstable because they're poorly balanced,  I lost interest.

@Kachina624

There's more unstable people in the world today than when we were growing up.

I have two princess phones. One is a rotary dial the other touch tone. These phones are extremely heavy. But they still work.

Re: *** Princess Telephone ***

This is so strange but I was just thinking during one of my wake moments in the night about when my mother would take us to our phone company each month when she'd pay our bill. They had a big showroom with all the offered phones in different colors; it was always exciting to go in there and look at the options. I did have a princess phone, pink I believe, when I was a teen, a few years past 1959 but not many. Guess they were popular for a block of time back then. It was replaced with a red Ericophone when I turned 16.

Awww....what memories.  I always wanted one for my bedroom but never convinced my parents to get it for me.  I'm not even sure why I wanted one because I wasn't a big talker on the phone then (or even now).

Yep, had a pink one! I wasn't even a pink girl, but I thought the pink phone was so cool!

Re: *** Princess Telephone ***

My mother got me the pink princess phone with my own phone number for my 16th birthday. When my line was busy my friends would all her number and ask her tell me to call them. She regretted that decision very quickly. My best friend had her own phone too so we'd talk way into the night. I didn't deserve so many things my parents gave me and did for me. God rest their souls. I wish I'd been better.

Me too!!  I wanted the princess phone in pink so badly!!!  Never got one though. We too had one phone in the kitchen; I think it was gold.  Then we redecorated the kitchen and got a red one.

I never had a phone in my bedroom.

Our house phone was in the kitchen and it was beige....the wall hanging version.
