Re: Pretty Room with Windows

It's a pretty room, but for some reason I don't care for it, it seems almost cold to me, not homey at all. I do love all of the windows though. Maybe different decor would help.......

Re: Pretty Room with Windows

I think it's nice, though I agree with some it could be a bit more homier with a little change in the decor.  For me though, I LOVE windows and brightness, awesome!!!   I may have mentioned before in our previous home we lived way out in the country and I had a ton of windows (42 to be exact) and zero window dressings.  We had lovely maple wood in that home so why cover it up plus we could not see our neighbors Smiley Happy

I love the windows and the layout of the furniture. Not a fan of the fabrics used on the chairs or the rug.

To me, the upper part of this space is very serene and the lower part is very chaotic.

The room is not cozy enough. Too large for just one seating area.

Working with what's there, switch to a navy print rug to ground the room and remove the pillows from the printed chairs. That would improve things for me.

Looks like a Social Distancing room with seating spread acroos a large area!

I love the space of the room, the windows and doors  and ceiling.  However, I am not a fan of some of the furnishings and rug.  I do like the idea of a blue color scheme and the print chairs are pretty. I also do not care for the coffee table at all. The room itself is very appealing but changes are needed within.

Re: Pretty Room with Windows

I want to like it but it's just not doing it for me.  For one thing it appears off-balance to me.  There is no color on the ceiling down to the floors and then boom....you're hit with all the furniture and decor items.  I'd prefer the ceiling beams (forget the proper term) to be a dark wood stain as well as darker hardwoods for the flooring.  I'd have to swap out a lot of the pillows and the coffee table for starters.

...or different furniture placement.  It's so spread apart.  As others have said, this layout is less for a home than for a conservatoryor a lobby.

I would get rid of all the furniture and rug and start over.  Like the room itself.

Love the room but the rug is a bit too bright for me. I would also change the furniture to larger pieces and less of them.

I'm loving the beautiful windows @wilma, but that's where the love ends.
