Can anyone recommend a good custom Plantation Shutter company?

I need someone to come out, measure and install some shutters?

Thank you.

I used Next Day Blinds many years ago and was quite pleased with the job they did. I only had three installed in my master bedroom, but I do love them.

I priced them at different places. Very, very prices and no insulation value. But, I love them.

Costco did ours. They aren't the cheapest nor the most expensive but they were the best. We called out three day blinds and I laughed at their prices. They wanted more for one shutter than Costco wanted for three. Very happy with Costco

I NEVER thought of Costco.

Do they measure and install?

This could be the solution!!

Yes. They do it all. They measure and install and make suggestions. Great service. Like I said, not the cheapest nor the most expensive but definitely very happy with them. And I forgot. I live in Arizona and they do provide insulation value by keeping the heat out of the room.

meowingkitty - Are they vinyl or wood? I never thought of COSTCO either and I have a few windows that I would like to put them on.

SUNBURST SHUTTERS - I have them on every window in my home & love them! They come out & measure your windows & install them. The thing about Sunburst Shutters is they are GUARANTEED not to yellow or degrade. I live in the desert southwest & the temperature gets up to 115 to 120 in the summer & my shutters look new! I have seen homes with other shutters & they have turned yellow & do not wear well. I have had them for 10 years! They are not the least expensive, but they are probably one of the very best!! They are in your state, PA, just google SUNBURST SHUTTERS. Good Luck!

You might Google O'Hair Shutters & look to see who the local distributor/dealer is in your area. I used a local place (who's since changed hands) & they came out & did the measuring, which was sent to O'Hair's factory in TX to be built & then sent back to be installed by the local company. My shutters are all solid hardwood & are guaranteed for life, even any future owners of my house. They weren't cheap, but they are beautifully made.

I recently had plantation shutters installed and went with Next Day Blinds as well. I had had one window done years ago by a custom company. After cost comparison I decided to go with NDB. However, I was skeptical about quality.

Wow, was I wrong. My blinds are wood, and look just like the custom ones I have except for one edging piece running down the outside. The NDB blinds people looked at what I already have and told me about this difference, it was SO minor that I decided to go with them. They delivered on time, installed quickly, and without mess and I am very happy with my purchase and their service.

As for the difference in the outside edge? I never even notice it as the shutters are not in the same room, and the piece does nothing anyway. Happy with my purchase.
