What is the maker & design name, if you can't post a photo? Without knowing the pattern of the design I sure wouldn't use any of the above printed mats. Solid red or white depending on your table color, or depending on your design, maybe red & white stripes.

I agree with KLF that a link to or picture of the plates would be very helpful.

Also, what are the other colors in your kitchen/dining room?

How about navy blue? With a basic of red/white, you can probably do seasonal placemats and navy is great for May thru Sept..

I personally prefer a solid placemat, unless your dishes are all solid color. If I see printed dish/serve ware with printed table linens, even when they are well coordinated, I think it is too busy. For me, if the dishes have print, the linens should be solid (or almost solid) and if the dishes are solid color, it opens up to more print in the linens.

O/T but, Lolakimono, if you don't already have a job of hunting and finding and posting pics for ANYTHING that someone wants,,,,you SHOULD have. You are soooo very good and quick at finding just the right thing. Kudos to you. Want to be on a 'retainer' with me?? No kidding tho, you're quite amazingly quick , "as well as' efficient!!

I got this idea off the web. I have the chargers, and the bird plates from Pier 1 and will add flags for July. I love this look and I don't really need the place mats but if I did they would be blue. http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/ab/1c/e0/ab1ce00b7d9bd77a6e297edc47a97636.jpg

Very Nice! I think this could lend itself well to many seasons, including Christmas and New Years by changing up the other table decor, like the flags you mentioned for July, red glass ornaments for holiday, and some silver mercury glass for winter.
