@Desertdi

The owner describes it as a "tiny house."

@lolakimono    I love it!  I wonder what material the turquoise strip is?  I'm afraid contact with a hot pan might not go well with epoxy

I was watching Tiny House Nation a few days ago and they had a shiny, epoxy-looking countertop that looked like a watercolor.  It had lots of green but other colors too and was a work of art.

If you check out the Instagram page that I posted, you can see it in various stages of production.  He has additional pictures of the rest of the house too.

Re: Pine & Epoxy Counters in a Tiny Home

When I was a child, my uncle owned butcher shops & grocery stores. The local health department had him remove wooden surfaces/butcher blocks/tables because wood is porous and could retain bacteria. They had him replace the wood surfaces with stainless steel because it was a solid surface. I always have that in mind when I watch home renovation shows that use wood for kitchen counter/island tops - it's not for me.

@Desert Lily   if this counter is covered with epoxy resin, there would be no contact with the wood.

@Kachina624  You're right; not while it's new. But I would worry that continuosly used finishes eventually wear off. -It's just me.  : )
