Re: Pier One a Huge Disappointment

Must say, I have never had a problem with anything I have bought there. And, that is many things for my own home and my daughters home. Can not say anything about their shipping - I usually buy in the store or have it shipped to the store for pickup when I am out and about.

Re: Pier One a Huge Disappointment

Just to clarify, I love love love Pier One, and have shopped there for many years, we have dishes from there table linens, pillows and baskets, my bad experience was with the Glimmer Lights, and only those. Everything else that I have ever purchased from them I love........They definitely could improve those lights though. I do order online, as we have a nice stor about 4 miles from my house, and my husband loves to go in there as well, we also get a lot of our Christmas Decor from Pier One, and my mom and I like to go after the holidays and get the good deals........

Re: Pier One a Huge Disappointment

I too had a bad experience with Glimmer Lights.  The timer would start a 1/2 hour later every day, so if I'd set it to start at 6 pm, by week's end it would be starting at 9:30 pm.  I returned them and the saleslady tried to convince me it was a minor problem, that there was much to be said for not using the timer and turning the lights on/off manually.  Weird.

Re: Pier One a Huge Disappointment

Haven't been lately.  I was so disappointed in the store policy when I returned with an item I purchased two days before it was on sale.  I wanted the price difference.  They refused me ($18) because I had been back two weeks prior for the same issue - price difference. I was told only one price adjustment per customer per year.  The coupon issued wouldn't even apply because the item couldn't be give the discount if they were on sale as well.  Whatever.

What else can I say about Pier One other than 99% of their stuff is made in China! That should explain a lot!

@ID2

I am just curious - where do you shop that most things are not made in china?

Meant to type, that I don't order online, as we have a really nice store about 4 miles away!!!!! My mom and I just received an invitation to a Holiday Open House, they are giving away gift cards, and showing how to do some different holiday decorating..........I think it will be fun!
