I have decided that my all-time favorite sheet in the summer is Percale, specifically Wamsutta SuperCale Plus. Wamsutta no longer makes SuperCale Plus, so I was wondering if any of you also love the crisp , cool percale sheets of summer, and what/where do you purchase now?

Vermont Country Store has very nice, crisp percale sheets.

Yes, yes, yes... Percale has always been and will always be my preferred sheet fabric and regardless of season! All those usually wrinkled high thread count sheets need not apply!

I'll be interested to see the replies. Percale is my favorite sheet all year round, but they are difficult to find. I have been on the search! The first two sets of percale sheet sets I purchased from LL Bean were excellent, unfortunately, the set I purchased about 6 months ago were very rough. I tried The Company Store because they have very attractive colors and patterns. Not only were these rough, but thin as well. I've tried washing these new rough sets several times to see if they will soften - no luck. My next stop is Vermont Country Store. I have been able to get some vintage sheets off of Etsy and a couple of thrift stores. Fitted sheets are a problem due to today's thicker mattresses.

I tried the super crisp sheets from Vermont Country Store and ended up donating them. I found them to be very rough and they wrinkled terribly. Not the percale sheets I used to get by Fieldcrest.

Krimpette, it's a shame you didn't like the VCS percale sheets. The ones I have don't feel rough to me. I like them. But I'm aleays open to trying others. Did you find crisp sheets elsewhere that you like?

I think that ship has sailed, but I like percale, too. Maybe at Cuddledown? I love their linens, but $$$$. Is there a percale that doesn't wrinkle?
