Is the new trend uncomfortable furniture, these look so awkward to me?

 

I love the bookshelves UNTIL they added the background. too busy, it takes away from what is being displayed on the shelving.

I don't like the zigzagging going on in the built ins. I think I would like it without it though. This is very NY to me.

It's an attractive apartment, but the only thing overwhelming me are the book cases. And not in a good way.
