I've been toying with the idea of painting my front door. I have a brick house with a dark brown roof and tan trim. Currently the door is dark brown.
I'm leaning toward a dark blue/green color - Benjamin Moore Newburg Green is a possibility. I'm wondering if I have to paint the garage door to match the front door. It's a tan color that matches all the trim on the house.
Personally, I don't think I have to paint the garage door.
Thoughts?

Don't paint your garage door. The man that owns a painting company, that painted our stucco told me not to paint garage doors. It peels, especially if you have extreme temps (very hot, very cold weather). So, we just painted our side garage entry door to match the stucco and left the garage door alone.
I think that your dark blue or green front door idea is great. I think that would be very pretty with your brick/brown/tan color scheme.

Gorgeous!

That's it, amp. Thanks!
The garage door is already painted, and it really needs to be re-painted. It's showing signs of wear - not peeling though.
I want the front door to really stand out; if I paint the garage the same color, it won't have the same impact.

Could be too many colors going on at the same time - how about painting front door - tan - to match your trim?

Oh alright, I see! Then if it's already painted, you could get someone that will know how to either paint over or strip it off and put a new color on it, maybe even the original color. That's good if it's not peeling.
If you have your garage door the same color as the front door, it won't be as much of a color pop for your front door, that's true.
I love love love that BM newburg green, what a pretty color!

If I did that, the front door would just disappear. I have a long walkway and then a front porch - so the door really sits far back from the street. The front porch is about 12 X 15.
I need a wow factor - LOL

Personally I like front doors painted a different color than the trim and that newburg green color looks really nice. It would be a nice punch against the brick. Our house is yellow and our door is red. After we painted the door red several of our neighbors also painted their doors red. I would leave the garage door tan to keep the front door the focal point.
