Paint for Kitchen Cabinets?

. . . . . that are already painted?

The cabinets are krappy and we really don't want to spend the TIME on doing it right, I mean removing the paint, sanding, priming, repainting, etc. This is just a temporary fix. So my question is, do you think we can just prime again right over the semi-gloss paint, then repaint? Also, I remember reading about special paint for kitchen cabinets, but I did a Search and nothing came up. Anyone know? TIA!
