Re: Paint by numbers!

[ Edited ]

I love it!

It reminds me of a colorful platter I have hung over my stovetop.

It's called Joy Cats.  Just crazy colored cats with google-y eyes.  Can't post a pic as I'm not home.

I did a paint by numbers of a lion (or was it a tiger?) a few years ago and mucked it up.

Ended up doing a grandson's name in *free hand* instead mixing all the paint colors and made it into the neatest camoflage.  It turned out great.

I would love to do this one for a wall in my kitchen.  Love cats (and they all should be house cats!)

Ladies, you should go to your local craft store and see if you can sign up for "Tole Painting" classes.  The items are done with patterns.  It's almost identical to paint by number and loads of fun.  I used to teach it.

@house_cat

That's a very cute pic.  Love all the kitties & the colors.  Nothing wrong with adding a little fun to a home.

I hope you enjoy the kit.

@ScenicMaine

This is an old thread that was resurrected, but would you believe I still haven't painted them?  I was going to start last week, but we've been having a lot of guests and in my small house I need to set up a table especially for painting/puzzles and I didn't want the clutter right now.  When I finally do get to it, I'll post the results.

@ECBG

On August 4th I'm going to a Paint Your Pet party at a friend's house.  They asked for a digital photo of the pet, so I'm assuming they are going to create some kind of paint by number template, rather than freehand as was done at a painting place we'd gone to.  I hope this painting turns out better than that one did.  I brought it home, took it out of my car and loaded it straight into the dumpster.

@house_cat I used to teach role painting.  I kept my items and they're in my country kitchen.

Very pretty, @ECBG .  Unfortunately, I have no talent for that.

@house_cat   Small world!  I have a matted print by the same artist with that ginger cat in a slightly different setting that I purchased several years ago at a craft fair in Milford, CT.

I'm sure you will enjoy working on painting both pictures.  The main thing about drawing, painting, or coloring is not to have any angst over the process or the result.  Get in the "zone" so to speak and you will be fine.
