@SharkE   I got a new Improvements catalog today and saw this snazzy swamp cooler.  You said you were thinking about getting another.  This would really keep you cool while you bake and toil in the kitchen.  I've never seen one like this.  Item # 485095.  @SharkE

Hey people I had a swamp cooler a long time ago and it was no match for the portable air conditioner.I couldn’t make enough ice to keep that thing runn8ng and it only slightly cooled the room.

yeah, I paid 300 or better for a pretty red one from Home Depot. Big one that rolled around it would drop temperature and go back up, drop and go back up I wasn't about to haul ice to it all day long.

Glad winter ish weather is here I get a reprieve my power bill went down to 150. Means they will raise the rates pretty soon. They don't like the little folk to catch a break for to long.

Heard it snowed over in New mexico. Guess up in the moutanious areas

@dex.  Good heavens, I never heard of using ice in an evaporative cooler.  You must have had some kind of cockamainey home-made concoction.  I have one on my roof that cools my whole house to the point I'm often cold on the warmest days and operates for much less than $50/mo.  They only work in very dry climates.  I assure you I don't deliver ice to the roof to operate it.  Plain old water is pumped in.
