Love this setting!
House and Garden UK showed this cute white cottage for sale, last year I think, in the idyllic village of Port Isaac.
Definitely a storybook, timeless feeling!
Wish they had shown more interior pictures of the cottage. Note the previously discussed, striped Cornish ware china pitcher and cups in the yard. Great place to capture the sun. The county of Cornwall is quite mild compared to the rest of England, and even boasts some palms.
They did show the tiny kitchen and bedroom:
I like the spartan quality of the bedroom, with its tiny bedside table and clock... A bright quilt would be super.
Cornwall, sticking as it does, way into the Atlantic Ocean, captures the imagination.
There have always been ships, smuggling, lonely windswept beaches, pirates and romance in Cornwall.
I can't believe how many terrific novels and memoirs are set there. Two of the most remarkable are "Rebecca", of course, by Daphne du Maurier, and the eventful "Ross Poldark" series by Winston Graham. But there are tons!
One of my decorating books showed the old inn in Penzance, Cornwall that Sixties' retired super model Jean Shrimpton bought and lived in. It looked scenically down over the harbor in Penzance, with shore birds careening overhead:
Jean Shrimpton had wonderful style, and had decorated the rooms, especially her own, in the most appealing cottage-y way.
This map shows historic Penzance and its legendary, sheltered harbor:

It is also where the PBS series Doc Martin is filmed. Only in summer weather however; you never see it on a cold and rainy day!

@Oznell I love your posts, especially when you add the history. I had no idea this is where Poldark was filmed, I was so into that series. I would love to live there, and turn that home into a Bed & Breakfast.

Gosh, that little cottage looks wonderful.
The kitchen is so nice, with that big Aga cooker.

It looks like a beautiful area. I remember Jean Shrimpton from back in the day. What a beauty.

This is very appealing to me.
It's the perfect location and size for a vacation home for a single person or couple. The decor is just right.

@Bookplate Yes, I recognized it right away from the very first picture. I always liked that show and the town.

I could live there. Beautiful setting.

I fell in love with this place as a huge fan of Doc Martin. I could live there, but would be happy with just a summer.
Thank you for all the reminders!

This area looks so quaint and charming. The kitchen in the first cottage would be doable but the bedroom and outdoor area need a lot of work, IMHO!
