I was intrigued by this room done by the Wilson Fuqua architectural firm in Dallas--

The gently barreled ceiling and the soft, lacquered seafoam-y color, along with the broad windows, give the room almost a sunroom feeling.  Great use of symmetry also, to enhance the calmness of the space...

Was trying to figure out what the windows look out on, and it turns out there's a substantial sort of wrap-around loggia or porch outside of them--

The beautiful antique rug complements the sky blue,  grounding it with its earthy tones--

The glossy lacquered ceiling bounces around the natural light....

This more intimate, wood-paneled den in the house also has that faint blue ceiling.  Nice idea to bring a little continuity through to this room...

@Oznell So beautiful, I love love pale blues! Only problem for me is if this were my home, I would never leave it. It is so inviting inside and out. Thank you for sharing.

The pale blue is elegant, but it can feel cold or flat.  It clashes with the rug and floral upholstery, which lean warm.

The artwork is scattered and disconnected.  It doesn’t give the eye a resting place.

I like the color but I have never been a fan of the ceiling being the same color as the wall.

Love the color, but not the furniture or the rug......

Funny thing, I was just reading an article in our Hartford Sunday paper about toned down pastels being the newest thing in wall paint.  It said that grey and beige were no longer in high fashion.

The room pictured seems to echo that.  I personally do not care for pattern on upholstered furniture with an oriental rug on the floor.  Our LR has that type of rug, and our upholstered furniture - sofa and two chairs -

are a pleasing shade of beige.

@Oznell  I love it! Soft pastels are so soothing. So much nicer than the grays that were in style previously.

@Oznell

That room is so soothing .... I'd also find it hard to leave.

I absolutely love this!

I never envisioned a lacquered ceiling but it's beautiful! The chandelier is amazing.

Although I've not seen any wood paneled room that I like, this is an exception.

I'd change out the rug and move in pronto.

Thank you for another incredible set of pictures @Oznell
