Re: PACIFIC NORTHWEST KITCHEN

[ Edited ]

@We rescue cats Those pendant lights are a big no for me too.  I had them in my last house and said never again.  Pot lights all the way!

Love the stove though!

Also  love how bright the kitchen is.

Re: PACIFIC NORTHWEST KITCHEN

I love the kitchen but am not a fan of the stools.

They look uncomfortable to me and the dust would get in to all those crevices.

I would replace them with a more comfortable clean line stool.

Re: PACIFIC NORTHWEST KITCHEN

At first glance (the first picture), the kitchen looks charming and well put together (well, except for those chairs at the island which I would throw in the fireplace) but as I look at the other pictures I see many things I'd change.  I'm not a fan of open shelving for dishes & glasses but I do like the ones at the kitchen sink window which I would use for potted herbs, other plants and a few knick knacks.  I normally like at least one kitchen cabinet with glass on the doors but since there are so many windows in the kitchen, I'd opt for a normal wooden cabinet door.  I'm not really fond of the lighter wood in the island and would have it the same color as the cabinetry.  As I mentioned, the island seating would have to go too.

I love the kitchen, very beautiful, bright and airy but I do not care for the stools. Too much upkeep in keeping them clean and dust free. I would replace those. Is the refrigerator in the pantry?

Re: PACIFIC NORTHWEST KITCHEN

All I could focus on were the floor to ceiling windows that let all that luscious light in! Beautiful!

The white is cheerful and I love the floor. Many pretty elements including the lights.

I don't care for the wooden island or the chairs.

So airy and lovely.

Very nice, but I would have to have some color somewhere.  Those stools are very uncomfortable to sit in.  I had some similar.

Re: PACIFIC NORTHWEST KITCHEN

I am a huge fan of windows and light but honestly I do not like all the light in that glass wall.  I would feel like I was cooking in the garage with the door up.

Cut it down to windows above a half wall and a nice french door.  More storage, not cooking out on the patio then. . .

Re: PACIFIC NORTHWEST KITCHEN

I love the way the kitchen is so lighted up by the glass and the brick is just a juxtaposition that I really, really like.  The only think I don't like are the bar stools and they HEAVY.  I had those eons ago and they are just so heavy.  Nowadays we have lighter weight stools that are so much easier to live with and IMHO more attractive.

Like the look of mixed metal colors - copper, gold, silver, brass, nickel, iron . . . also like a mix of brushed and shiny textures . . .  Like the brick, wood, glass, too.  Nice kitchen.
