When we walk, we can smell the scent from dryer vents. I use pods in the washer and I like the scent as long as it's not overwhelming.

@Carmie  When I remarried in the 90's , my husband would do laundry and use dryer sheets. I had never used them. After a while, there was this gummy residue on my iron. He wore suits, ties and dress shirt every day and the shirts needed ironing.

It was the coating on his shirts from the dryer sheets, that damaged my iron. That residue was coming off the iron , onto

my clothes. I got a new iron and we stopped using dryer sheets.

We also use only fragrance free laundry detergent.

Before liquid detergents, there were powder detergents. I remember walking down the laundry isle in the store and those fragrances would really irritate my nose and throat. I would start coughing. I'm so sensitive to those chemical fragrances.

I was very happy when they changed to liquid detergents.

I have gotten fabric softner and laundry detergent both that have just been way to powerful scented. I actually just added water to them both before putting them in the washer and it worked great.

I'm very scent sensitive, however, I like the soft scent of regular original Tide.  It doesn't bother me and my DH only likes Tide, so it's working for us.

I don't know why these companies think - the stronger the better!  It's nauseating!  I had to switch to fragrance free everything.  I really don't know how people can stand these strong, heavy scents in laundry products.  I mean, a lot of people already use perfume or cologne or other products on their person, so why add on more scented products which can clash or over-load???  Also, many people use scented candles and air fresheners, etc. in their homes.  I know when I have gone in to some people's homes, I have gotten sick from all the sprays, candles, etc.

In stores I get a bad headache and feel sick when there is overwhelming fragrance!  Sometimes it is someones perfume and sometimes it is candles or airfreshers etc.Cat Sad Then I cannot wait to get outside and breathe the air!

We use only unscented and dye free laundry products. My asthma can't handle strong scents. I literally cover my nose and hold my breath in laundry, candie, and aisles with home deodorizer products.

I avoid scented bath, body, and skincare products. I've had issues with underarm deodorant & with choir members wearing perfumes and colognes too. It can be a real challenge to eliminate all the scented stuff from my surroundings.

My attached neighbor used to use Gain and I loved the smell coming from her vents. Unfortunately I'm very allergic to all of them and can only use the free and clear.

I can not use Downy Crystal’s as gives me instant migraine . Like Desert Lily I had to wash everything over . At first I couldn’t figure where the smell was coming from. I did look bizarre going around the house smelling everything!

Dryer sheets are typically horrible with toxic chemicals.
