I'm going to order a rug for my bedroom. I would rather order than buy locally, because I would need help getting it to my car and in the house if I bought it in town. I'm looking at Overstock and Rugs USA. I've never bought from either place. Has anyone ever bought from either place? How long before they ship your order? Are there any other great places to buy rugs that aren't too expensive?

I am familiar with Overstock. I bought a small rug, and two lamps in the past. No problems. No issues and fast shipping.

When I bought my home and put in new hardwood floors, I was on the lookout for accent rugs. I got this for my dining nook off the kitchen...my walls are golden yellow (like an egg yolk), my table and chairs are rustic white topped with cherry wood. This rug looks striking, and after 8 years, looks like new! The 5x8 was $300 - and it's 100% wool (hooked). They have tons of well priced options.

FWIW, I never shop online unless the site has a toll free # and they accept personal checks.
Believe it or not Macy's department store (offline). FREE delivery & rugs are very reasonable when it comes to prices. Unbelieveable when on sale.
If you see a rug that you want online, go to your local Macy's store to see if they have it. If not, they will order for you online. This way you will save on S&H as they will not charge for it depending on the state you domicile in.

I love what area rugs do for a room and have a half dozen or so that I rotate. I believe I bought my last two from buyarearugs.com. There are a number of websites that give you a choice of thousands of rugs. I prefer contemporary designs. Be sure and get the appropriately sized pad to go under it. Don't buy a wool rug if you have a pet that might pee on it. They last forever but stain.
I use a drag maneuver to get things like rugs and mattresses into the house. Thank goodness I had the foresight to buy a house with no stairs.

I love your rug @terrier3. Did you get it from Overstock or Rugs USA? I've been looking at both websites for two days. I've got several picked out that I really like, and I agree, the prices are very good. I found one at Overstock that was over $100 less than it was somewhere else.

Thanks @Kachina624. I'll look at the place you suggested. I'm very lucky that my dog won't pee on the rug. Most of the rugs that I'm looking at are wool. They hold up so well, but they are such a pain to vacuum all the time when they're new due to the shedding.

@Mz iMac We don't have a Macy's unfortunately. I'll look at their rugs online though. Thanks for the suggestion.

It's from Homedecorators.com.
I believe it's a division of Home Depot. They have excellent service and great prices.

I have ordered from both Overstock and RugsUSA.
From Overstock, I bought 4 area rugs. Delivery was quick, prices were incredibly inexpensive (and I did lots of research online), and quality is superb. 3 of the rugs were different sizes but the same pattern. I returned the largest because it was all to matchy-matchy. Return was quick and painless. I LOVE Overstock and have purchased other items (including furniture). They have great customer service!!
I ordered 2 rugs from Rugs USA. I returned one because the color was just way too different than what was on my computer and what was in the description. Return was easy. The other rug I kept but it was defective (one of the medallions in the pattern was only half done). I kept it because the rug was so well priced but it also leads me to believe that Rugs USA may sell "seconds". If they do, then they should state that on their website.
