Organization For Small Spaces

I have a small home, and not much storage space.

I saw this, and thought it could be a great way to use the closet in my 2nd bedroom.

/>

Anyone have any ideas/photos/links to help those of us who are struggling to use our small space efficiently and get organized?

Personally, I cannot afford to spend much money on a project, so I would really appreciate suggestions that aren't too costly.

Anyway...thank you in advance for your suggestions!!!

--mistri

I really like to repurpose things, so even if your ideas are modest, I'd like to hear them. Wink

My first thought was Ikea, but then I remember seeing some nice closet organizers at Lowe's and Home Depot, too. I don't think they are very expensive. You might even check at WalMart and see what kind of shelving units they have.

I have one smallish closet off of my studio and I have shelving units on one half and a clothes rod on the other half. Even that gave me a lot of extra storage. I definitely understand what you mean by needing to be organized. Even though my house is fairly large I never seem to have enough storage. My DH says that no matter the amount of storage space I have I will always find more than enough stuff to fill it. hahaha

Oh, I see by your second post that you're looking for things to repurpose for storage in a closet. I've seen people use small chest-of-drawers inside their closets. And I have some vertical wire dividers that I think I bought at Lillian Vernon years ago that I use on the top shelf to organize shoes, scarves, sweater boxes, etc.

I think we all do that, don't we? {#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

Inexpensive or repurposed...either way. I'm just looking for ideas that I can afford. If they are creative ideas I've never seen before...well that = bonus points!! LoL

I actually have an extra chest of drawers that I may stick in that closet...unless I can find a more efficient use of the space.

Have you checked at Amazon? Closet Maid has lots of organizers at very reasonable prices. Just do a search for closet organizers and they'll show up. There are some that are less than $20. Actually I saw a couple things that I might pick up for myself.

Mistri,

For about $50, I got one of these when I lived in an apartment. It fit inside the hall closet and I used it for a pantry. I organized all the like foods together, and I could pull out a particular bin and take it to the kitchen while I was cooking.
