Two years ago brought a new one from the Q. It had the three free tune ups and belts, and bags. It never seemed as good as my old one I had for years, but the Q had a good offer at the time and I had the old one a long time, didn't buy from the Q.
I finally brought it in for tune up and the guy wants to charge me 20.00 though I have the certificate that says free for three times once a year. I guess he wants an hourly wage? I don't care I'll bite, but the interesting bit of info. I was not aware of is that the Q uses Dave Oreck and his son for their advertising on the Q with Oreck, but they do not own the company anymore. This man said that the Orecks are not as good as they use to be and he use to sell them in his store, now he repairs them alone with other vacuums. He suggest the Miele made in Germany.
I am buying a new expensive white carpet and do not want to use this Oreck on it because it does not do well on thick rugs. It pulled on my now present 12 years old rug.
Does anyone have info to add? Is this man right about the Oreck company? Is anyone familiar with the Miele vacuum. I tried it and feels great, but expensive.
Thank you in advance for any info. you can provide.
