@lolakimono  P.s. to my earlier reply.

There would be no island in our type of cottage kitchen at home just big farmhouse table also one or maybe two comfy armchairs near the fireplace.

This pic made me very homesick for my cottage but cannot travel yet!  Thanks for sharing.

Looks the same to me...you see it in the photos from the side & then the front, no difference at all.

Re: One Kitchen, Two Views

[ Edited ]

It does look like 2 different rooms ....  It looks like they thought by combining rustic with elements of the farmhouse style that both would blend into one cohesive style, but instead it looks disjointed......But I DO love that fireplace!...

Aren't you dying to see what the other half of that space looks like? Maybe it goes perfectly with the fireplace? Leather chairs, maybe, or as someone else said, a big solid dining table.

Meanwhile, I LOVE those six windows wrapped around the kitchen. That would be just wonderful to work in and hang out in.

I also love the idea of having that big island with nothing interrupting the surface. You could do so many different things on it!

Maybe I would have used the same color on the lower cabinets and the island, to help the cabinets gain some visual weight on that side of the room.

Also, I'm not crazy about having the fridge and the sink separated by the stove and all that counterspace. I'd rearrange that if I could. Schlepping food back and forth to the prep area would get old fast. I always think that whoever arranged things that way must be a non-cook.

So little storage space but nice views. The island doesn't work for me.

Love this kitchen.  The only things I would change are the bar stools.  They seem out of place to me.

I really like this kitchen. I would have a large dining table and ditch those acrylic bar stools for sure.

Of course there are things I'd change. I'd prefer a more coordinated perspective rather than the mix of rustic and contemporary... of new and old... but still, I think it's a very nice looking kitchen.

It's very nice esp. the kitchen.  Love all the windows for the natural light & the white cabinetry.
