Christmas lantern idea:

I really like this one. I'm into antiques, and this one has that "look"...of course, it probably isn't, but I love the overall effect. I may try to duplicate this come Christmas!

Hi rosehill! Do you have any of mercury glass trees? I would love to find some for this Christmas. The Q has a set of four, but they are only 4" high . . .

Hi whitelinen! I don't have any silver mercury glass trees, but a few chunky pillar holders similar to the ones in your mercury mantel photo. The first thing that popped into my mind, was to keep your eyes peeled in Marshalls, TJ Maxx and HomeGoods for mercury glass trees. I think they may just turn up there. I know the P Barn store had them in their catalog last holiday season, but they are way overpriced in my opinion. You can study their arrangements, then go out and find similar looks in much lower priced retail stores. I'm sure you could find them online, but shipping kills the deal for me so many times. Hope you find some. That all silver look in mercury glass has such a vintage, upscale, peaceful look to it. So pretty.

I think this is a cute idea. I ran across this while searching for mercury glass pinecones.

That is cute. The hardest part would be collecting all of the different kinds of pinecones, I think.

I like the base used under the tallest tree.

Hi to you rosehill!! Thanks for your response about the mercury trees. Checking out Marshalls and the rest is a great idea. I'm over paying for shipping for my decs. Something has to GRAB me anymore to pay it.

Just canceled the ivory lanterns with Luminera candles I had on waitlist. I have several pairs of bronze finish lanterns and I decided to play around with painting them to use on the porch instead.

Recycling feels better right now but I would definitely spring for some gorgeous silver mercury trees. Thinking about going with a mercury grouping for the mantle this Christmas.

Are you looking for anything special these days?

whitelinen, I think those mercury glass trees might have been from a sold out VPH set. The number is H201947

I'm pretty sure I've seen them at the Q outlet from time to time. I didn't buy any yet but that's not saying I won't yield to the urge to purchase the next time I see them.
