Just asking, what color lights do you prefer?

I like - white, for the  roofline.

         - white, for the front entry.

         - green, for the large trees.

Re: OUTDOOR Christmas Lights...

I have a tall narrow blue spruce at the front corner of my house that I wrap with clear icicle lights.  I also put a wreath on my front lamp post and wrap the post with red ribbon then with clear lights wrapping the post and wreath.

I have small stake trees on either side of the garage that are red and white lights, the front door wreath is red and white lights as well.  I have the red plough & hearth sleigh that I put presents around and a small potted tree in with red & white lights.  This year I added the Santa's Best wire tree, have to decide on the color - maybe I change it daily!

I'm old fashioned so I like multi color lights at Christmas.

Re: OUTDOOR Christmas Lights...

OK, well, I posted how I use lights outside but didn't specifically say what color I like.  Obviously I like red and white, but really I just prefer more than simply clear/white lights.  I don't think white lights alone is festive enough unless you have really spectacular architecture and landscaping.  So, for me, adding in a color like red gives it pop.

Re: OUTDOOR Christmas Lights...

I do white lights outside.

I do wrap the trunks of my trees with green lights and put white lights on the branches.

Re: OUTDOOR Christmas Lights...

I stopped putting light up on the outside of my house a couple of years ago.  Decided is was not safe to be up on a metal ladder in the rain.  I like the fat old fashioned lights (even though they are hard to find).  I have always had alternating red and green lights.  I would buy multicolor lights take all the other colors out!  When I look out my front window I see three houses with lights.  One has the old fashioned multicolor lights, one has the small red lights and one has small white lights.  I like the old fashioned lights much better.

Re: OUTDOOR Christmas Lights...

Since childhood I always loved blue lights and I remember when Elvis decorated in blue lights for his daughter Lisa Marie.  I thought what a cool Dad, wish he was mine. Lol anyway, through the years I always requested just blue.  I would get blue but always mixed with other colors.  Last year I bought a BLUE bliss light and I was guaranteed to have my blue lights.  Since then I've purchased two more and two clear.  This year again I will have my blue lights with white.

Re: OUTDOOR Christmas Lights...

We never have done outside lights, it is just something I've never wanted to tackle. Unless you consider the candles in the windows, then no outside lights at our house.

I like to see all kinds, though, at other's homes.

I love a large scale, all white light display, and love the colored lights as well.

There is a place near here that has a lot of the old blow mold light up pieces (those figural plastic light up pieces from the 1950's and 1960's), choir children, Santa and sleigh with reindeer, candles, and more. Those vintage plastic pieces really take me back to my childhood, and I love to look at their display.
