@kaydee50  I don't think new yorkers should not be able to use light colors!  It is actually very popular!  I have had that color couch and light wood myself.

@Oznell I love the first look, the second not so much, but I see those big windows and the big problem in NYC is keeping things clean.  I think that is the reason we like black so much!  Dust gets in even with the windows closed.  So the second look requires less maintenance.  Maybe that is why he changed it, if that is what he did.  The couch has a slipcover in that look.

I love that rug in the first look,  I tried to find it online but couldn't.  But the loloi rugs are affordable.

@Oznell Just realized I could see the name of the rug by hovering over the picture!  Glad I looked again!  Comes in a couple of colors.

The couch is from Ikea, slipcover also available.  Some of the other furniture from Ikea too.

First one @Oznell simply because of the rug.

Version # 2 is much more to my liking. I like the colors much better with this version and it makes the room look warmer to me.

The first one is very feminine with all of the pink. 

I prefer the second one.
