For me, this is the most unhappy time of the year. Not just the heat and humidity, but the too brilliant sunlight and too long days. I read somewhere that SAD affects some in summer as opposed to winter.

I'm a fall/winter gal, myself. I will be a mess until October.

Too much sunlight?????

Wrong kind of sunlight.

I live in GA, it's been in the 90s and will continue to be and our big AC unit for most of our ranch home has been out since Sunday. At least the bedroom side is cool! They are coming today to put in a new unit, furnace and new vent system. It's serviced us well for almost 30 years so hard to complain about the cost, but there goes our Europe trip for this yearSmiley Happy be cool and well, all!!

That all depends on where you live. In Oklahoma, it is in the low 90's and VERY humid and of course the wind is blowing. People here are amazed that it is so cool this late and that we are getting some rain every few days. We think it is wonderful!!!! It could be hot, dry, windy and near or over 100 some days by now.

I had a neighbor who used to talk about living in Oklahoma, she was hysterical! She said her hair was always standing straight up from the wind!

Ha HA!!! THAT is the truth! People say "Oh but it's a dry heat" but when you are in August here and the temp if 107 and the hot wind is blowing it is like being in a convection oven. They need a "feels like" scale for THAT! {#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

It's very hot here in Connecticut, but I much prefer this than shoveling snow.

Hello It's very hot in New Jersey . First ninety degree day is supposed to be today. I have ms and cannot stand this heat. I'm stuck in the house. No backyard party for me.

Very hot in NE Ohio but I love it!!! We have no AC either. Lots of fans. I'm living like my Great Grandmother did sans the Ice Man and she survived OK.

I do hate going out to stores or places that crank up the AC. We are so acclimated to the heat those places feel like it's February again.

Did I already post here how hot I was? The heat's gotten to me. I have become a 'shut-in' because I hate going out in the heat.

I went out in the yard and took down the trash can to the road yesterday (it's a l o n g distance) and did a few things and I almost passed out from sweating!

I hate hot weather. Just think.....summer hasn't even started yet.

I live in Northern Va. I just asked Suri (my phone) what the temp is outside and she said it was 93 but according to the TV it's closer to 95 outside.

It's the terrible humidity that bothers me!!

I know we're not supposed to wish the days away but....come on cooler weather!

We have elderly people who take walks through our neighborhood, but they have cut back because of the humidity.

It has created extreme fire danger because it's also very dry. There is a fire on the Navajo Nation in NW NM which has burned 17 sq miles and is 0% contained. It's being whipped by the winds and they can't get helicopters in to drop water due to wind.

I was just saying this to my sil on Sunday. I can probably count the number of truly calm days on one hand. That's VERY unusual for us here in the Miami Valley of Ohio. Wonder if this will be the new norm.

I thought I was going crazy but it has seemed to me that Ohio is getting more windy all the time. I know different areas tend to seem more windy because of the flat terrain, but even in our hilly area, it seems the daily breezes are stronger, and the storms are really bad with wind more often now than I remember in the past.
