Nutcrackers have arrived!!!!!!!!

I received two of the three sets of the cream nutcrackers that I ordered, and hopefully the third will arrive (Q has short shipped me before), and I have to say, they are very, very nice.

The color leans more to gold than bronze in my opinion, the painting is very well done, and I have to say that I was worried, because with the gold just outlining much of the detail, it had the potential to be very sloppy.

They are well packed, and the Styrofoam is definitely a keeper for storage.

One box I received had two paper inserts, one with the usual "over applied glitter to ensure you got a nice product after shipping" statement that comes with a lot of Q's glitter items, but also a card stating that these are made by Mr. Christmas.

I find it very odd that this wasn't mentioned on air, as this is a company that Q promotes big time. My feeling is that much of what is presented under the Lisa Robertson "brand" if you will, is being made by the same regular companies that are making Q's other holiday stuff, but they want it to appear more high end, so they aren't playing up the manufacturers or the companies from which these are actually coming. When going back to re read the description, it does state that they are made by Mr. Christmas (in the description, but not the title), so Q isn't avoiding it altogether, just not overly advertising it.

It doesn't bother me at all that these are Mr. Christmas, and I think they left the name off when presenting these because in my experience a lot of the Mr Christmas things are not that well painted, but the nutcrackers I received certainly are. I mention it just in case it might make a difference to someone who either likes or doesn't like that line of products.

In general, for the price point, I think these a very much worth the money, have a more high end look than much of what Q offers, and make a very nice statement. Exactly what I was hoping for, for my only nutcracker purchase ever. I always wanted one nutcracker themed piece, and only one, as it isn't my "thing", and these fit the bill perfectly.

Re: Nutcrackers have arrived!!!!!!!!

So glad you are happy with the nutcrackers mominohio and that they were packaged so well, unlike the sleighs. Hopefully your 3rd set will be as nice.

Great description of them and of who made them. Those things are nice to know.

Thanks for posting, and for the description! You said they lean more gold? Would that be more of a deep burnished gold or gold/gold? Was kind of hoping for more of a caramel coloring. Hopefully mine will arrive in the next couple of days. Happy to hear the painting is good! Enjoy yours!!!

Kitty, I'm so sorry, but I'm only an interior designer in my dreams (LOL), and not really as good with colors as many of the other posters on this board, but if I had to pin it down, the color is a more dark gold, and slightly mat finished, not glossy, and not "shiny gold coin" looking. I think I sometimes miss the little nuances that others see, and I hope you and others will come back and comment on just how you see the color, so I can learn from you all. To me, though, a would say closer to the deep burnished gold.

Thank you mominohio, I appreciate your description, that is just what I hoped the coloring would be. Happy it is a matte finish! Surprised they are a mr. Christmas item, although when they do an item well , they do it well! I have some of there items that are wonderful! And some that weren't so good. Looking forward to getting the nutcrackers, hope everyone loves theirs when they arrive!!! Thanks again!

Re: Nutcrackers have arrived!!!!!!!!

I just saw a set only 2 of these multicolored nutcrackers on the HSN website under the Winter Lane name. They look just the same except they have music boxes built in and they cost a LOT more, something like $59.00 for two and no ivory choice. I like QVC's set of 3 much better. I just can't decide between the ivory or the colored sets! Anyone who gets these, please let us know what you think of them. Smiley Happy

I think many of the E.D. on air items are Mr. Christmas or other brands found on QVC reworked for Ellen..

So happy you like them!!!

Hi mominohio, do they mix well with your ivory Lenox pieces? Mine are coming today but it's always late when UPS comes by. I want to use them with my Lenox and Lenox look alike pieces.

Just today, I noticed they are more white than cream or ivory. I don't have any Lenox here at my house, but my mom does, so I should get a piece of hers to compare them, but if I am remembering hers correctly, they are more cream, and these are coming across more white.

I didn't even notice it until today. I set them up in the living room to look at for a couple of days to be sure I liked them, and when I got up this morning, I noticed how much more white they looked. I still like them, and they aren't quite as rich or as elegant as Lenox, but still very nice for the price. I plan on using them with the acrylic champagne finials that actually never made it to air (other colors did, just not the champagne). I think they will compliment each other nicely.
