Re: Nutcrackers have arrived!!!!!!!!

Hi mominohio, my Nutcrackers came today. They are pretty though one has a spot on bottom front that the paint wasn't applied, you can see through to the ivory color. I don't know if it will bother me or not, going to look at them a couple of days and decide if I keep or return. I'm not that impressed with the color of the gold or that they look more white than I expected. They are substantial and with the exception of the paint boo boo, seem to be well made. I think I'll probably end up returning them, but haven't decided for sure yet. I'm glad you're happy with yours. We all have very different taste and expectations for use, they just don't blend well with the items that I planned to use them with. OBTW, I have those acrylic finials in champagne and I think they are beautiful.

Sorry for the paint issues yours had. I do have to agree, I thought they'd be more ivory or cream and less white, and after I realized it, it was a little bit of a turn off for me, but I'm pretty sure I'll be keeping them. I wonder if the multi-colored ones are nice. They looked good on air, but I'm trying to get away from such a profusion of color everywhere for the holidays. I know, that is what most people are going for, I'm trying to cut back some, go figure.

I think those finials we got are the best thing I've purchased all year. I think they are so elegant and high end looking. They are so different than anything I've seen anywhere else, and no one could tell they aren't glass. I'm so excited to get those out for the season.

ITA, the finials are the best, as long as they aren't lit, when lit they have that blue tint that takes away from the champagne color, IMO. I'll use mine without batteries in them. When I brought them out I had forgotten just how pretty they are. No one would even think they aren't glass just by looking at them. I love them and I'll use mine on the entry table with some micro mini lights around the vignette, not sure exactly what else will be used with them as yet.
