I have a NN down comforter that is probably 15 years old. It's never been cleaned, but I've always kept a duvet cover on it. I see that the new ones are listed as washable. I wonder if I can wash mine....the tag on it says dry clean only. What's different about them now so they're washable. Anybody ever sucessfully wash an older one?

Do not wash it.  My comforter is as old as yours.  I gave it to an excellent dry cleaner and now the feathers are coming out.  Leave it as is.  If you find a place where I can buy a new one please let me know.

And, that NN comforter (if she still has it) is about 20 years old now!
