Re: love the look and actually had this in my previous home. Re: Nolan Bench & Chairs

A round table has always been my preference, but I would never place a bench with it. Why make formal dining appear (and feel) like cafe eatery?

I love this. I find it very appealing and charming. In fact I like the whole room.

I would imagine that the bench would be used by two adults (intimate seating for 4) or if the owners had children. I don't envision a lot of sliding out to let others out (unless it's kids) Smiley Happy

Nicely done room, but for the ceiling light, which needs to go. Othewise, quite pretty. The table does seem a bit small for all that seating but all the elements appeal.

Might be okay for kids, but this looks more formal, for adults and I would want individual chairs.

Love the room but wouldn't want to be the person in the middle of the bench. Also individual chairs allow one to adjust seating space in relation to table.

I prefer my own chair and do not see the point of this bench/chair arrangement.  The bench at least has a back but it's a no for me.

Sure!  I have an antique wooden bench pulled up to my dining room table, along with chairs.  Love the look.

I have never really been thrilled with the quality of anything I have received from Ballard Designs.

As far as this pic goes, I think I would be more likely to put two of those benches around the table rather than the bench/chair combo.

The room looks too formal for bench seating to me. Like lots of other posters I’d prefer individual chairs. I might consider a bench with a back in a kitchen eating area.

Pretty room and I do like round dining tables.  Do not like the bench idea prefer separate chairs easier for people to get in and out and you have your own ‘space’.
