@Marsha2003  Over the years, I've seen and collected a lot of different items. I have never seen Royal Crown Derby miniature

buildings. They sound precious, I bet they are beautiful and you have a great way to display them.

Now I'm curious, I'll have to look them up.

@Marsha2003  Just now, I looked at the adorable Royal Crown

Derby miniature buildings. They are precious and the handpainting is exquisite. What a lovely collection you have.

Thanks, @Enufstuff.  Royal Crown Derby stopped making the miniature buildings about three years ago.  I wish they would rescind their decision and produce a building in commemoration of the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II.  I've been in contact with their partner in England who is also trying to see if a commemorative could be produced.  Of course, it wouldn't be available for at least a year probably, but I have my fingers crossed that a new issue will be produced.  Such a building would seem like the perfect capstone to the collection.

I do not like clutter, so I have only a few knickknacks and most of them have a personal meaning to me.  I collect antique toy sewing machines and have 20 on display on high selves on two walls in my kitchen.

@Harpa  Nefertiti in your picture is lovely. She seems to have a beautiful golden sheen to her skin tone. I have one very similar.

Mine is only 7 " tall and is on a shelf of my Victorian what not.

She has a peachy skin tone. In most Egyptian art and painted sculptures, you will notice that men are depicted with more of a tan color skin and women were lighter skin.

Men were the warriors, hunters and charioteers while women,

especially royal or women of higher status were expected to be more home bodies and not exposed to the sun. They did not have to work out in the sun.

It seems to me to have been a cultural trend similar to women

in Victorian times; keeping out of the sun and using a parasol to prevent tanning.

@Marsha2003  That would be a wonderful idea to have something created to commemorate the Queen. Windsor Castle

or one of her other homes would be a nice addition to the collection.

@Enufstuff  I got that photo on Etsy. I couldn't believe all the busts they had!

I have an 8" white Chopin sitting on my ebony piano, and a 19" golden Beethoven sitting on one of the floor speakers. Only have a few music motif things.

Really, I do not like clutter of any kind. My walls are practically bare, and I don't have curtains in every room.

Interesting about Egyptian things. I read Henry Schliemann's bio a long time ago, and PBS had a series a while ago about his work.

I have a collection of Seraphim Angels.  They are in 2 glass curio cabinets...no dusting.

I have Glass curio cabinet end tables.  They are full of momentoes from my life...no dusting!

I also have 3 Thomas Kincade angels that sit on mirror pedestals in the corner between sofa and loveseat.

I dust these!  Looking at them everyday is worth it!

@Zhills

Your angels are beautiful. I didn't know that Thomas Kinkade did angels. I forgot that I also have  a small collection of Seraphim angels. They are packed away, since I don't have a place for them right know. I have too many collections, I forget what I have. Is it Enufstuff or Toomuchstuff?
