IMO - things like a niche should be filled with items the homeowner has an emotional connection to. Photos or something like a momento of an event etc. Both the niches pictured here look to me like something in a model home , whereas I feel a niche should reflect a person's life in some way.

@151949, I agree with you.  I have many types of art in my home, but they all have special meaning.  My home will never look like a designer home--not sure if that is good or not so good.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I like how they turned the books around in the after picture.  I've never seen that before.
