  • Its been almost 2 weeks since speed queen washer was delivered and it has already done 20 loads. Regular clothes, big comforters, pillows. It cleans fantastic. Well worth the high price tag. We live in our mother in-laws house so
  • we both use it. Instead of going to the store to buy the washer I called the store and bought it over the phone. When I told my mother in-law how much I paid for it she almost fell off the chair.

I only do laundry once a month. It's just me here and I'm not sure I would get the most out of buying a Speed Queen at this point in my life. I'm anticipating a purchase of a new washer/dryer sometime b/c mine are super old but still working. TG.

How's the water level? I have Maytag washer and dryer and do not recommend this brand. It's stingy with water and somehow dirt and grease end up in the top trays that hold detergent and softener.

I should be a spokesman for SpeedQueen. I have both pieces and I cant say enough good things about them. They are simple to use, old mom and pop style, water fills up high, you can throw things in as you go, very small repair complaints, large tub, and most of all MADE IN USA!   You get what you pay for with this work horse. I cant recommend this enough!

Washer fills all the way up and washes really good. The way washers use to be. And you get the water temperature you select. If you pick hot or cold water thaythays what it gives you not like our last washer hot water was never hot.

@AnyaK  I've had a Maytag commercial/residential washer for the past 3 years and love it. It has about 6 different wash options, all of which have high water levels with the exception of the Regular one, which uses a fairly low water level. Although I rarely use it, it also allows for extra rinses. It was more expensive than most other washers, but was one of the few that wasn't a water miser.

I've tried about every brand of washer/dryer. We've been trough 3 in only 10 years of living in this house. I bought Maytag last time thinking buying American made would be better. Um nope. Broke down and since the repairman couldn't fix it we were paid out and bought an Electrolux this time. So far so good.

I have put washer to test with queen quilt this week as well as mattress covers, etc.  So nice to have a washer that does not walk or get off balance.  Love water levels and choices.
